THE government has raised the vehicle registration cost. But the people have found a way to avoid paying this cost for many years due to the negligence of the traffic police and customs authorities.

To avoid the cost of registering a new vehicle, what you have to do is put a number plate that simply says ‘UR-14 or 15’ and no policeman will ever bother you.

UR means Under Registration. But in Peshawar I have witnessed cars plying the roads with this number plate for many years. The owner uses the car for years and then sells it in the market, without once registering or paying any taxes.

I request all our citizens to use this technique to avoid paying additional cost of registration.
