PESHAWAR: A man has blamed the Peshawar district education officer for using delaying tactics in issuance of his appointment letter for the post of schoolteacher.
Speaking at a news conference at the press club on Tuesday, Zakir Abbas of Garhi Faizullah Mera Musazai, on the outskirts of Peshawar, said that he had obtained second position in the NTS screening test for appointment as schoolteacher in PBS-15, but he was yet to be issued the appointment letter.
The only reason for delay in issuance of the appointment letter, he said was a mistake in his CNIC.
“I have submitted all the relevant documents which proved that I belong to Peshawar by birth and have land properties, name in the voter list and the
entire population of my locality knows about my permanent residence,” he added.
“I secured second position among the top 10 candidates who appeared in the test for the purpose,” said Mr Abbas, while producing documents to the journalists.
He said that he didn’t know as to why he was not appointed on the post he deserved.
The DEO Peshawar, he said had issued appointment orders to those who were much behind him in the run for the posts.
“The DEO told me that my appointment has been rejected on the basis that I am not from Peshawar district, and there are two different home addresses in my CNIC,” he said while referring to statement of the DEO.
He appealed to Chief Minister Pervez Khattak and Minister for Elementary and Secondary Education Atif Khan to take notice of the situation.
