KARACHI: The Pakistan Table Tennis Federation (PTTF) has issued necessary instructions to its affiliated units to commemorate the World Table Tennis Day on April 6. The United Nations has already approved the date and event.

In this connection, the PTTF has also decided to make the second Masters Cup which is being held at Islamabad a part of the commemoration. Earlier, the event was scheduled to take place at Peshawar but has now been moved to the capital with mutual consent, the PTTF president, S. M. Sibtain, said on Sunday.

The executive committee of the PTTF has already given its nod to celebrate the day in a befitting manner.

Meanwhile, on the instructions of the PTTF, the Karachi Table Tennis Association (KTTA) will stage a two-day boys’ under-15 and under-18 besides girls’ under-18 competitions at the Islamia Club on April 5 and 6, ITTF course conductor and coach, Arif Khan, said.

Arif is scheduled to leave for Dhaka on April 8 to conduct a 10-day ITTF-PTT Level I coaching course and training camp. The ITTF has made Para Table Tennis (PTT) mandatory in all the Level I coaching courses.
