ISLAMABAD: Aabpara police have registered a case against the naib khateeb of Lal Masjid, Maulana Amir Siddique, for violating the amplifier act on Friday.

It may be noted that the use of loudspeaker except for Azaan and Friday sermon in Arabic is prohibited in the federal capital.

A police official requesting not to be identified said though a case had been registered against Maulana Siddique, hardly any clerk was arrested in that sort of cases.

“Though clerics are informed that they cannot use the loudspeaker, a majority of them do not follow it,” he said.
