SHIKARPUR: Police picked up two Brohi tribesmen hailing from Balochistan and claimed that they had masterminded the Jan 30 suicide bombing of the central imambargah in Shikarpur.
At least 55 people were killed and scores others wounded in the attack.
SSP Saqib Ismail Memon told Dawn on Friday that Ghulam Rasool Brohi, a resident of Haji Khuwasti Brohi village, and Khalil Brohi, a resident of Dera Murad Jamali, had been arrested on Thursday night.
Sources in police said the suspects had also confessed to assassinating a Shia leader, Allama Shafqat Mutahari, near Khanpur a few months back.
