SPI down by 0.52pc

ISLAMABAD: Weekly inflation for combined income group, measured through the Sensitive Price Index (SPI), witnessed a decline of 0.52 per cent for the week ending Feb 26 as compared to the previous week, suggests Pakistan Bureau of Statistics data on Friday.

For the lowest income group earning up to Rs8,000, the SPI decre­as­ed by 0.48pc over the previous week, while inflation for the top income group (Rs35,000 and above) was down by 0.53pc.

The items which recorded increase in their average prices included gur, powdered milk, electric bulb, red chilly powder, shirting and tea.
