You need jobs, housing, health-care, advance machines, engineering and industries, Infrastructure for your people. 7. Justice system - You need a modern, secular, fair and effective justice system. Musharraf is right. U.S defense secretary Chuck Hagel in a report to the U S Senate blamed India to launch proxy war against Pakistan from Afghan soil. Pakistan should go after TTP and her supporters in any way and let world see the real truth.

Pakistanis are the greatest threat to themselves. The threats from India and Afghanistan do not even compare to scale of threat from their rotten ideologies.

I am amused at the charged reaction of Indians whenever Musharraf speaks, It shows he must be saying something right. Regarding blame game, it must be remembered during Mumbai attacks, while the battles were still being fought with the militants, Indians had already started blaming Pakistan without starting any sort of investigation, as is their habit. Secondly, all he is saying is that the main commanders of TTP including the head are based in Afghanistan with the support and knowledge of Afghan and Indian intelligence. If anyone finds it hard to digest this fact, just google this name 'Latifullah Mehsud'.

Few months ago US forces found a TTP terrorist at an afghan base. He was being with afghan forces what looked like a meeting.us forces intervened and captured the terrorist. He was handed over to Pakistan 2 weeks ago. It proves that afghan army is now fighting a proxy war with Indian support to counter Pakistan's support of afghan Taliban. I do not know how a person who is accused of treason can talk to TV. He captured the power by over throughing an elected government and still he roams freely in Pakistan. Mush is perhaps correct, TTP finds safe havens in Afghanistan. And yes why would India not support anti-Pak forces though not necessarily directly involved in any such acts or attacks. But the issue remains, we are unable to defend ourselves as the cancer is actually spread in our own body.

I'm a common Indian, there is no way I can guess what ISI and RAW are doing. I am an indian and feeling tragic about murder of innocent children. In this instance though; I fully agree with Musharraf that RAW supports such organisations - I am criticizing my own govt because young children were killed.

I stand by the General's words. He is spot on correct. Everything he says is already confirmed - especially regarding the whereabouts of Mullah Fazlullah. Its no coincidence that COAS General Sharif rushed to Kabul to apply pressure on Afghan government to hand him over. We need assertive people to handle our foreign policy. The saddest part of this farce can be found in the tacit agreement that many Pakistani commentators below have with this man. This, after the horror that unfolded just a day ago. Some of the comments I read, you really think a rag tag group of illiterate Talibans can pull such a gruesome attack on a guarded facility. Any person with some common sense will think there must be some support or backing from very organized entity. The only 1 think comes to mind that has something to gain having an anarchy in Pakistan is Indian Intelligent agency RAW. I am a Pakistani citizen. One thing I never understood. Why do we expect garlands, cake and flowers from enemy. I simply ask one question. What were we doing to protect ourselves from such horrific incidents. India, India, India..... please come up with a plan and courage instead of crying foul.

Musharaf and certain elements in Pakistan proved time and again that friendship between India and Pakistan particularly between common people is threat to there existence. Let me remind people of Pakistan same Nawaz Sharif and Vajpayee made tremendous progress in our friendship and this same person is responsible for Kargil misadventure which again killed so many young soldiers who were only few years older than kids, in my view many soldiers who killed in kargil are only in early 20s are still just kids. Once people of Pakistan become friends they will not tolerate there own Army there dictatorship. Musharaf gave direct permission to USA to drone sovereign Pakistan, they made Jinnah's Pakistan into a hiding place for terrorist from all over the place including Dawood and Hafeez Syed People of Pakistan need to question themselves did Jinnah created Pakistan for Osama bin laden Dawood Ibrahim, Hafeez Syed, Zakhir Rehaman Lakqvi and other terrorist,

My dear Indian friends just need to know one thing. Musharraf is not an elected leader of Pakistan so what he says he says in his personal capacity and does not reflect the mindset of the country. Number 2 and most importantly, Wasn't it India whom showed the unwarranted affection toward Musharaff when he was the President despite knowing he was an usurper?

General Musharraf has setup Pakistan for a major failure . It does not look like Pakistan Leaders are willing to learn from mistakes. What will take for a General to admit a mistake(S) and change course. Pakistan now needs a little bit of healing and it is time you step up and provide some healing.

@arslan No people to people ties.....as people Indians were there before 1947 we were all under British India. There are many Afghan refugees in India. We recognize that Afghan youth are being misled into terrorist activities not just against Pakistan but against us as well. Musharraf has a single point agenda i.e. to somehow escape the treason charges against him. In his mind, the only way to do that is to keep making anti-India statements, however ridiculous they may be. During his trial, he will claim that he is is more Pakistani than anyone else, since he has the maximum anti-India tirades to his credit.

Did he implied that since he himself as general nurtured the terrorist group is also a culprit! Once a person from Pakistan civil society urged indians to forge relationship with pakistan and when India get hurt by terrorist , India should go for more stronger ties. If you feel India is supporting Taliban, just note what Maulana Aziz who refused to condemn the school children messacre, said in the Friday sermon that there were no differences between the Taliban of Afghanistan and those in Pakistan. They are like brother. If you're serious please go get him, he is in your backyard in the Lal Masjid. You will have one less of Taliban. Believe us India will be very happy with one Taliban gone.

Arslan: There many Afghanis studying and working in India. If you go to the prominent malls in Delhi, you will find many Afghani youngsters working. Unlike in Afghanistan, they can be what they are and wear what they want. :) The other day I met a lovely young Afghani lady working for a foreign beauty brand. She was of a Uzbek origin and loves it in India. She blames Pakistan for the mess in the country.

While not ignoring our own shortcomings, the cold hard fact remains that illiterate villagers, previously goat herders, get all the ammunition and go techy? Where does that support come from? By selling goat cheese? Also, these tactics are applied globally and many nations have been doing this. On the flip side, they have also been manipulating economic constraints, falling oil prices to strain Russian economy currently. While drones are a new thing, these strategies are old and widely used.

@arslan India has 4 consulates as does Pakistan in exactly the same cities. India has many development/infrastructure projects its funding worth billions but why does Pakistan need so many consulates? If Pakistan has concrete proof of India's involvement why is it not showing it. India has shown proof and said in the UN speeches that Pakistan is supporting terrorism in India. Why didn't the Pakistan PM accuse India of supporting terrorism in his speech in the UN - because there is no proof only conjecture.

He may be right about RAW supporting terrorism against Pakistan, because '1000 cuts' policy will have to be countered ten times over. But RAW may not be involved in planning specific missions. Also, Pakistan has not yet been able to come up with any specific proof in support of this theory. So, either he is totally wrong or RAW is doing a fantastic job!

See/hear what the "Maulana" of the LAL MASJID in the heart of Pakistan's capital had to say about the Peshawar massacre. No words of sympathy and no words to condemn the TALIBAN. I am confused here. So if INDIA's RAW or other external agenies are backing Taliban and other terror organizations inside Pakistan,surely ALL good muslims should condemn the TALIBAN and their affiliates as munafiqs,at the very least. Otherwise,I take it that all the pious muslim leaders in Pakistan who support TALIBAN also support RAW & INDIA and their supposed machinations in your country ! Here is a person who approved the drone strikes. Not only that, but from Pakistan territory. While the goings were good, he received billions of dollars while in power for Pakistan from America. Today he blames the Americans! Has he come clean about the Karghil debacle ? Today the Taliban is entrenched in the whole of Pakistan. How is Pakistan going to get rid of the menace? They mingle with the crowds and no one will be able to identify the terrorist. The Taliban will create havoc by unleashing its suicide bombers. In Peshawer, how did they penetrate the city without being recognised ? They can blend in with the crowd at will!

If there is a 5th consulate , please say which city it is in and the address" after all a consulate must have a published address is it not? There are many Afghans studying in Indian universities and many Indians in Afghanistan building roads, schools, helping withe gearing up election infrastructure and so on.

Pakistan was the first country to recognize the Taliban government in Afghanistan, and only one of the three to ever do so (the other two were Saudi Arabia and United Arab Emirates). No other country recognised it, nor did the UN. Musharraf is merely ranting nonsense that is not necessarily grounded in reality. However, if Karzai did indeed encourage the TTP in Afghan soil, he had very good reason to do so!
