I am too nice for 'Bigg Boss': Meekal Zulfiqar

It seems that the absolutely handsome Meekal Zulfiqar is now becoming a household name in India with his drama, Aaina Dulhan Ka (original title Mirat-ul-Uroos), on Zee Zindagi.

According to Times of India, the actor, while speaking to IANS over the phone, said that he prefers reality shows over dramas, but would not appear on Bigg Boss, the most popular reality show in India.

“I like to watch reality television rather than drama. I was offered Bigg Boss before. But I don't think it's my thing. I think I am too nice for the show."

"I think they will kick me out in the first episode only as I will not generate any controversy. I think I will be pretty boring," Meekal added.

Responding to whether he is an avid viewer of Indian serials, Meekal admitted that he does not follow any of them.

"To be honest, I have not followed any Indian serials. They are famous in Pakistan, but I only know some names through flickering of channels like Kumkum,” said the actor.

Meekal, who was earlier seen in Laa and Izteraab, is currently playing the lead in Hum TV's Tum Mere He Rehna alongside Na Maloom Afraad famed Urwa Hocane.

@Amar "I believe most Pakistanis watch Indian dramas as far as I know". Unfortunately, you are right, I think. But Z Khan is right too. They are boring, in fact that are horrible, and extremely negative and distasteful. I cannot take them for more than 5 seconds at a time.

Meekal Zulfiqar is a tremendously talented actor who was wooed by Bollywood for several movies, and turned many down. He did accept a couple of Indian movie roles only after he carefully reviewed the script, and refused to play degrading type roles with the usual shallow type song, dance and racy scenes. Meekal's parents raised him with good values and strong character which outweigh his need to chase after mega millions in Bollywood. His talent stands alone and if he so desired, he could succeed quite well in Europe or in Hollywood. Yet his love for Pakistan will always be at front and center which is truly admirable.

And yeah Btw Big boss is for those people whose career is going through a tough time, In other words no one is asking them anymore in the industry. So if Sir whom so ever you are as I never heard about you before, got an opportunity from Big boss then may be you are a looser or is running out of job.

Big boss is not for all. Tried following it couple of times but I don't like it at all. Concept originally meant to include stars but it usually has "wannabe" stars or failed stars.

@Z Khan how you know that indian dramas are boring with no plot, unless you watch.you have not talked about one drama but "dramas"That means you have watched many of indian dramas.MOst pakistanis will claim indian dramas/films are vulgar,bad plot boring etc etc yet they will buy pirated indian movies/dramas in bundles.I think it is little hypocratic.

@Amar not anymore....our dramas are of great quality...nobody knows Indian dramas here in Pakistan as they don't have any reality, lighting and makeup is horrible, no storyline etc. Even Turkish don't stand any close to Pakistani dramas

FYI, BiggBoss is for those whose career is facing a decline since long and those who are farigh enough to do such shows. This show is for the artists who needs attention from te audience and for the flopped artists.

Yes I am Indian and I agree, Indian serials are pathetic :(.. I loved the comedy serials of 2000 era, but in last few years mostly stupid boring idiotic serials are leading in every channel and only women watch them. They run for thousands of episodes while the storyline would have ended before 100th episode, then they chew them a chewing gum.. Luckily the new generation mostly watches English serials and something better is expected in the future..

he is right...he is too boring for BB. bigg boss runs on entertaining ppl...like aizaz khan, ali quli, vindu dara singh, andy, etc... he is too boring for his serials too...but if veena malik really damaged pakistan's image in india then they shud send someone to change it...

@Amar you are totally mistaken my friend. pakistanis 'used to' watch Indian serials in the 90s and but nowadays Indian dramas are absolutely no match for the Pakistani dramas. like a difference of day and light. to point out a major major difference: the acting is very natural in Pakistani dramas (our 3 year olds act better).

Indian dramas have not been very successful despite a very successful Bollywood. For some reason, they are loud and try to mimic big screen on TV, are over dramatic in acts and perhaps suffer from not realising that a TV drama can take its time in building a story. This is unlike a movie, which has to deliver in 2 to 3 hours. Pakistani dramas are hugely successful unlike their film industry (although there are signs that it is picking up) by not making the mistake that Indian dramas make: they are homely, and although lately have focused too much on humour, have generally made addressed the middle and lower middle class, as well as cultural issues. They are also patient in unfolding the story, and building up a momentum. Then they carry the audience with that momentum, with the top shots culminating in a much anticipated end. Having said that, they have moved forward with time and are still not as calm-inducing as the master pieces from 80s and early 90s. Perhaps we should have some of that style back.
