LAHORE: The chief minister has allowed free treatment to the retired officers of Pakistan Administrative Service (PAS previously DMG) and Police Service of Pakistan (PSP), who served and got settled in Punjab, in all provincial hospitals, including Shaikh Zayed Hospital, Lahore.

The free treatment is also allowed to the dependent family members of these officers.

The chief minister has also allowed free medical treatment to all serving and retired PAS and PSP officers in Shaikh Zayed Hospital, Lahore, as was allowed to them before the 18th Amendment.

This hospital was under the control of the federal government before the 18th Amendment from where these officers used to get free medical treatment. But they lost this facility after the hospital was given to Punjab in the light of the constitutional amendment.

The facilities include OPD, in-patient admission, medication, procedure, radiology, investigation and consultation.

Before the 18th Amendment, policy regarding free treatment of serving or retired PAS and PSP officers, serving or settled in Punjab, in provincial hospitals was also vague. But the chief minister has also allowed it to them.

The existing policy of medical reimbursement will be applicable to the Shaikh Zayed Hospital, Lahore, for the provincial as well PAS and PSP officers.
