GWADAR: Two security personnel and a driver of Frontier Works Organisation (FWO) were injured in separate incidents in Kech district on Tuesday.

Sources said the security personnel were injured when their vehicle was hit by a roadside blast in Shapak area. The explosive device placed on road by unidentified people went off when the vehicle was passing through the area.

Soon after the blast some people opened fire which was retaliated by security men. After the brief exchange of fire the attackers fled.

In the other incident, the driver of an FWO vehicle was shot and injured in an attack. He was taken to the district hospital in Turbat.

Three FWO vehicles were later set on fire by some people.

The vehicles were being used in the construction of M-8 national highway which will link Gwadar Port to Reto Dero via Hoshab.

Meanwhile, rockets were fired on a road in Talaar area where FWO employees were working.

The rockets, however, exploded away from the road. No one was injured.
