Not many in India know about this. This news was shown for sometime on Indian news channels and then withdrawn. May be Pakistanis r right when they say that Indian media is under too much control of corporates and other vested interests. What can one expect when one of the biggest media houses was purchased by Reliance? Shame on Indian media for pretending to be the last hope of world justice when its own citizens have to wait for more than 30 years to see that not even one influential person has been convicted for the genocide of 8000 Sikhs.

I don't think Mr. Bachhan neither refused to accept the summon nor anybody tried to deliver it to him. He is a law abiding citizen and his mother is a Khatri Sikh of Punjabi family. Making an accusation doesn't mean that he is guilty. Why all these years nobody spoken about it ?

So the sikhs need to serve sermons to a movie star... for comments he supposedly made... 20 years back..... about riots in which sikhs were killed.... because 2 sikhs had assassinated a serving PM.... coz she sent the army into the Golden temple.... where hundreds of armed millitants were holed up..... ok, got it !!

Let bygones be bygones and start building good relations between communities of mother India. Such an act would ignite hatred and animosity towards Sikhs in India. Agreed, Indira did not have to violate the sanctity but it happened. She was murdered. That should be enough. Besides, what has USA got to do with this nonsense itching to ignite strife between Hindus and Sikh? Issuing a court order like that shall only result in hatred.

Amitabh needs to be brought to justice. His crimes should not go unpunished.

Surprisingly there are people like sajjan kumar and tytler who actively killed so many Sikhs during riots but this SFJ is not issuing summons to them. All of these are baseless allegations cooked up just because he is a famous personality and then was close to Gandhi Nehru family. His mom was a Sikh and he comes from a cultured family who does not indulge in cheap things like you claim. What happened to Bofors allegations??? it was proved false and the courts dismissed the allegations and VP Singh ran away. Same is with some SIkhs who are only trying to gain some fame for themselves by accusing a famous personality. The Indian courts have already dismissed the allegations as fake when the very accusers could not produce a shred of evidence and ran away instead of coming back to courts. DOnt make baseless allegations just for some minutes of fame. What is making the SIKH Group to send the summons to Amitabh by registered post or some reputed courier like FEDEX.......Scared since they know they dont stand a chance.....

Please deal with Tytler and Sajjan Kumar first. They really have blood on their hands. Amitabh was just full of Bollywood josh, but wouldn't harm a fly, especially his mother's, i.e. his own people.

THere is no proof and no evidence more importantly of the same. The case was heard in Delhi courts filed by the same Sikh group and dismissed for the simple fact that this group could not provide a shred of proof and funnily they never appeared in the court when the case came up next for hearing. What makes this SIkh group deliver the so called summons to AMitabh in person or by courier or registered post which will reach him directly. Cowardice prevents them from doing so and they know that they are wrong and can do nothing except cash in on Amitabh's popularity since he is a famous person known the world over. Summons was served to Manmoihan SIngh and SOnia Gandhi as well saying that they too were involved in the riots killing. ALl of these are laughable. I feel for the Sikhs. However, I think it would be in their better long term interest (and India and Pakistan's) if the moved on. Wrong doing was committed on both sides in 1984 - truth and reconciliation is more important than retributive justice. Sikhs are in a wonderful position of being 'between' India and Pakistan and as such can play an important role in bringing the region together. To do this they need to make their own peace first. These sorts of gestures are ultimately futile and I wonder what Kushwant Singh would have made of them.

@Qamar Bhai, those who are telling that Amitabh are all baseless. The case has been heard in Delhi and Australia and has been dismissed by the courts. The allegations are all fake, fabricated by radical and wanted Sikh terrorists masquandering as SIkh Group just to earn some fame since Bachchan is a famous name who can earn them money and some limelight in world media. Bachchan is not that kind of person nor would he think of such a thing. Many allegations have been made against him , most famous being Bofors which were all fake , dismissed by the courts. You cannot be selective with justice. When allegedly Mr. Bachman shouted Blood for Blood why could it not be a call for blood of those two murderer ingrate guards who killed her? Why do you presume it was for killing Sikhs in general. Hindus and Sikhs share bonds and these cannot be frayed easily, and rest assured the two communities know how to sort out differences. How can people avoid the summons when law can not be enforced due to jurisdiction limits. Gist is that he will pay a big price from now on in terms of his freedom and mobility but it is not even a 1/100th of 1% of what the victims of his comments payed dearly.

MaunMouth Singh is a beard -sporting, turban-wearing Sikh, why did he keep "maun" on this most shameful episode of Indian history? To continue to enjoy power that comes from association with "Power" even though you may be only a "khidmatgaar". Bachhan and Rajiv Ghandy were "jigri dost" until Rajiv's wife developed the itch to sit on the Indian throne. Credit must go to Bachhan who told her not to, that she would never be accepted by the people. Since then, Bachhan has been the "persona-non-grata" at the Ghandy house. It is not surprising at all that he would have asked for Sikh blood.

Looks like Sikhs are a few years behind Bangladesh government, which is trying the people for the crimes of 1971 war and hanging old people, who would die anyway in a few weeks. Why can't these sikhs deliver the summons themselves or through their contacts in India ? If they are afraid, I can do it for half the amount.

My sikh brother need to spread the awareness to the sikh youth. Another myth that Sikhs should be making everyone aware of is about Hindu propaganda that says that "SIKHS ARE HINDUS". I keep stressing on this fact to all hindus who very often mention this.

Areh the Sardarjees seem to have lost the plot. Firstly Bachan's own Mother was a Sikh from a well known Sikh family in Karachi. His Uncles and cousins on his mother's side are all Sikhs. Her name was Tej Kaur. Secondly Bachan claimed no wrong doing and he went to the Golden Temple in Amritsar and prayed there and asked for forgiveness and guidance. Thirdly Bachan Sahib always keeps a small Sikh article of faith with him wherever he goes. Lastly the miscreants who actually caused the Sikh progrom in Delhi like Sajjan Kumar and his brothers are sitting in high office in Delhi.

I am waiting to sue in an Amrreki court, descendants of the Mughals, the British, the French, and the Portuguese for invading, stealing land, enslaving, blackbirding, and subjecting millions of our Indian ancestors to worldwide diaspora. Even though it's India's internal matter but I would say that there are many Sikhs and other Indians who claim to have seen the footage in 1984 when Amitabh Bachchan was igniting hatred and violence via slogans. A number of Indian Muslims whom I personally know have also got no great words for Big B, simply due to his friendships with (Late) Bal Thackeray and Narendra Modi, Regarding 1984, I had had this Sikh college-mate too who was once running a petition on Facebook in order to ban Big B from entering Canada, and he would also tell me that many complaints and petitions were filed against Bachchan but the actor simply escaped due to his connections. Even the tapes from Doordarshan that covered his speech are said to have been removed or destroyed. I don't say that Bachchan hates any community but people do commit grave errors after getting enraged, and a celebrity like Amitabh Bachchan needs to think that his behaviour and encouragement can ruin many lives. Imagine Tom Cruise reaching Ground Zero just within 48 hours after the tragic events of 9/11, and talking about patriotism and criticizing Immigration and/or multiculturalism calling it/them sole reasons for the event, and then asking people to adopt a violent and aggressive attitude towards Arabs/Muslims/Pakistanis and throw them out of USA. Would courts in US not send him a notice for giving hate speech?

Just goes to show you IDIOTS are every where. And, they never completely vanish. To the Sikhs who are creating this drama to attain cheap publicity; it is very simple. Send a Courier with Summons and give it to Amitabh Bachhan personally. If he does not take it, drop it at his feet and the American Court will deem it served. All the Courier has to ask Mr. Bachhan if he is the said person and give it to him.

Amitabh Bacchhan's mother is Sikh and is descended from the Sikh Gurus. His family attends the Gurudwara. This accusation doesn't make sense.
