RAWALPINDI: Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Gen Raheel Sharif, who is on an official visit to Indonesia, met Gen Gatot Nurmantyo, Chief of Staff of the Indonesian Army, on Tuesday and discussed with him matters of mutual interest.

According to a press release issued here, the discussions focused on regional security issues, the military relationship between Pakistan and Indonesia and measures to expand the defence and security cooperation.

On arrival at the Indonesian Army Headquar­ters, the COAS was presented a guard of honour.

Later, the COAS visited the Indonesia Peace and Security Centre where he held detailed interaction on counter-terrorism and highlighted achievements of Pakistan in the ongoing fight against terrorism.
