Indian shelling continues

SIALKOT: Eleven head of cattle were killed and a number of houses were damaged in heavy shelling by Indian forces on Pakistan’s villages along Sialkot border on Sunday.

According to senior officials of the Chenab Rangers, India’s Border Security Forces started shelling on villages Dhamaala-Charwah, Tulsipur, Rangor, Gandiyal, Sapwaal, Baghiyaari, Joiyaan, Bajra Garhi, Harpal, Anula, Khokhar, Nandpur, Jangura, Sakhiyaal, Kothey Raja, Salaankey, Beeni Sulehriyaan, Nandpur, Sakhiyaal , Kothey Raja, Tongar, Raja Harpal, Sukmaal, Daallowali, Thathi, Thathi Khurd, Meendarwal and adjoining areas on Saturday night.

The shelling continued the whole night, but no loss of life was reported because people had vacated almost all villages along the Sialkot Working Boundary.

More than a week-long Indian shelling has affected about 70,000 people and about 40,000 people of 70 border villages have shifted to safe places in urban parts of Sialkot, Daska, Sambrial and Pasrur.

Reuters adds: According to a press release issued by the foreign ministry in Islamabad on Sunday, Indian firing has killed 12 civilians and injured 52 in Pakistan so far this month.

@Fawad :: Just a different thought - The point could be that not to mess with India. If they can hit empty villages, they are also prepared, and almost taunting to hit people and military alike, when occasion arises.

Story in India is that Pakistan initiated the firing expecting minimal pushback and things have changed. Indian security forces have been told that they need no longer tolerate the random firing that they're accustomed to being at the receiving end of. About time, I'd say!!!

What Pakistan needs today (more than India) is development. For common public main issue is bread, housing, education, healthcare etc etc.. Kashmir is only issue to divert attention from the real issues that the country today faces. If Army does not listen to civilian government and creates issue internally and externally for its own power and relevance then common public would suffer. Public at large, civilian government and Army should think where they want their country to be...

Pakistan has motive to break ceasefire, which is to seek international attention after 'Mian Sahab' was virtually unheard in UNGA and pakistan being isolated from international arena .Now its being tying itself in knots,thanks to super smart Sartaz Aziz,By writing a letter to UN and whole pak media postering the letter,Its proving to the world who violated the ceasefire and Why.

Don't worry it will cool down in few days,when winter will set in and passes will be blocked for no infiltrator's to come in.This year Indian army nicely handled the infiltration,no major problem due to infiltration.So we can have good uninterrupted election's in Jammu and Kashmir this year.

Slightest retaliations - Pakistan rushes to UN, previous Indian Government was soft, but the present government won't be a silent spectator. Therefore Pakistan must soften their stance and look towards which is more important for the progress of their country, together India and Pakistan can become the most prosperous countries.

The problem is that both the armies have their own versions and so do the newspapers. Indian Army and Media is saying that it is the Pakistani Army that has violated the ceasefire first on each occasion whereas Pakistani Army and Media is saying the exactly opposite thing. I believe the same has also been noted by Dawn. This is a never ending situation. Difficult to blame anyone institution or entity. An honest assessment would be that both are at fault. Hope the situation subdues soon and sanity is restored.

This time I have followed up meticulously. First 2/3 days there was no media report in Pak media where as Indian media reported casualty in Indian side. Pak media started reporting after 2/3 days when as per Indian report Indian Govt. ordered the army to retaliate. Indian Govt. is finding it difficult to ease the relationship. Whenever civilian Govt. of both countries try to come close Pak army show them their place.

For me he has exceeded expectations of people of India in 100 days by bringing in "Jan Dhan Yojana", Swachh Bharat Abhiyan", "Gram Sinchai Yojana", bringing in lot of investment in India from Japan, China and US, retaliating enemy covering fire for terrorists, saving more than 40000 Kashmiris from flood affected areas . You must be an anti national to say that he did not come to expectations.
