KARACHI: A factory worker was shot dead in Baldia Town on Tuesday, police said.

They added that gunmen riding a motorbike fired shots at 45-year-old Khayal Muhammad, who was sitting at a roadside restaurant in Baldia Town Sector 4-D. Hit by two bullets, he died on the spot.

“The victim was a resident of the same area and was associated with an industrial unit as a labourer,” said Inspector Naveed Nasir, the SHO of the Saeedabad police station. “The body has been moved to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for medico-legal formalities. We see the incident as a result of personal enmity.”

Fishmonger gunned down

A fish seller, 50-year-old Yar Muhammad, was targeted by gunmen riding a motorcycle near his home in Mir Allah Bux Himayati Goth in Bin Qasim.

“The victim originally hailed from Kandhkot and here used to sell fish for the past several years,” said an official at the Bin Qasim police station. “The body was later handed over to the family after medico-legal formalities at the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC). A few facts shared by the victim’s family suggest that he was killed due to personal enmity.”

Two bodies found

Two bodies bearing torture marks were found in different areas of the city. In Mahmoodabad, a man was found dead along the railway tracks near Kala Pul.

“The victim, who looked to be in his late 30s, was wearing black shalwar kameez and had several marks of torture on his body. The body has been shifted to the Edhi morgue after medico-legal formalities at the JPMC for want of identification,” said an official at the Tipu Sultan police station.

The other body was found in the Old Golimar area, where a man in his 50s was found dead near the Love Lane bridge. He had a deep wound on the forehead. A Pak Colony police station official said the unidentified victim was strangled.
