ISLAMABAD: Mounting pressure on the ruling PML-N, Imran Khan said on Saturday the government was not ready to accept PTI’s five demands in writing and announced that the PTI leadership would approach the Supreme Court to get Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif disqualified because he had allegedly lied on the floor of parliament.
Addressing participants of the sit-in at D-Chowk, the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf chief said the government’s dialogue committee was announcing on the media that five demands of the PTI had been accepted. However, he pointed out, the government’s dialogue committee was not giving in writing what its members spoke on the media.

“The PTI leadership will approach the Supreme Court to get Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif disqualified as he was telling lies on the floor of the National Assembly regarding the leadership of the PTI, PAT and the army,” Mr Khan said.
He alleged that the government was also lying to the people of Pakistan about the Chinese president’s visit because the latter had in fact no plan to visit Pakistan. The Chinese leader was only considering a visit to Pakistan, he added.
The PTI chief alleged that Finance Minister Ishaq Dar had also lied on the floor of parliament that the growth rate had increased 4.1 per cent last year because he had told the IMF officials that the growth rate remained at 3.3pc in 2013-14.
“Today is the 23rd day of the PTI sit-in and I will compel Nawaz Sharif to consider the demands of the PTI,” he said, adding the PTI would play the role of real opposition for the government.
Imran Khan reiterated his stance that he would not leave the D-Chowk until Mr Sharif resigned.

What a waste of time and energies. I wish Imran had raised all these issues in the Parliament because these are political issues and belong in the Parliament and not in the court. If Nawaz lied in the Parliament, it is the Parliment who should censure or impeach him.

Imran should first consult the constitution of the republic, the parliamentary rules and read his responsibilities as legislator. Anything said on the floor of the house is not challangable in any court of law. He may move a previlage motion in the house against it. I believe its his second term in the parliament and not a single contribution so far.

Who answers me? Who is pocketing the expenses of travelling, housing, food and transportation (daily allowance if applicable) for all those who are called by the government to engage in discussions with Imran + Qadri? I have my very serious doubts that each of the participant whether from the government or opposition is paying from his or her pocket. Another constituency in Lahore proven to be rigged with more than 50000 votes. Keep on checking and they'll keep on finding evidence. No wonder NS is trying his best to avoid recount or recheck. PMLN refused to give it in writing. Why? After all this hue and cry about saving democracy and follow the constitution stuff-- they still are refusing to open constituencies for recount. Isn't its people right? What does democracy and constituency has to say about that?

There are tens of thousands lawyers in Pakistan. Can anyone say if anything spoken in Parliament of Pakistan by a member of Parliament can be challenged in a court of law. As far as I know, you can not do this in United Kingdom and many countries because of privilege granted to Members of Parliament by constitution.

Yes I think he is stupid to lead this revolt against the status quo because he has really had enough of living oppressively in a so-called civilized society. Our nation (people) need to wake up and do something about themselves. Yet another desperate charade by the great Khan, and another drain on judicial resources by petty politics. In accordance with Article 66 of the Constitution, statements made on the floor of the house are subject to parliamentary privilege and it is therefore highly unlikely, as a matter of law, that a statement made by the PM in the course of a parliamentary session (even if proven false) could form a ground for his impeachment. In any case, the Court ought properly to dismiss any such petition on grounds of non-jurisdiction, as there is a longstanding presumption against courts inquiring into the affairs of Parliament.

My question to the people of pakistan: if you dont want to support IK, who are you supporting and why? Do you still like the Status Quo? for how long? and those who are criticizing IK for finishing the dharna because of the flood disaster, my question is we have the floods every year and hundreds of people get killed, this is not something new....but to against the Status Que is something new and need focus from the nation to change this corrupt system once and for good. Then you will have honest and accountable management in Lahore and not see seas of flood water in urban Lahore and deal with other big issues facing our nation. If you dont stand up today...take it in writing from me that you wont have another person like IK to stand up for you in the next 30 - 50 years!

Who has answer?? PM Nawaz right hand Nisar, Interior Minister has used his police force injuring and killing protestors of dharna but still Imran did not end dharna and it is not going to end so soon unless PM Nawaz resigns which he refuses in any case. I am clueless since neither Imran is giving in nor PM Nawaz is in receptive mood therefore I request the readers to please enlighten me how to solve this riddle.
