PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Sardar Mehtab Ahmad Khan has expressed serious concern over the reported polio cases in Bara tehsil of Khyber Agency and directed the authorities concerned to take every possible step to eradicate the childhood ailment from Fata.

Taking notice of emergence of new polio case in Akakhel tribe, he directed the relevant authorities to take appropriate measures for polio eradication. He directed that Fata should take lead role in anti-polio campaign so that all children could be protected against the crippling disease.

Mr Mehtab said that polio eradication was top priority of the government and serious efforts had been initiated in that regard.

He directed that the affected areas should be covered in the next anti-polio campaigns.

The governor said that the government was very much concerned about the reported polio cases in Khyber Agency and asked the relevant authorities to realise their responsibility as no compromise would be accepted in that regard.
