Need of the hour

Imran Khan and Tahirul Qadri have highlighted the flaws in our democracy whether one supports or opposes all their demands.

Democracy and dictatorship, both are equally useless if they cannot solve the problems faced by the common man.

What is shocking to me is that many intellectuals and many in the media oppose the people protesting voicferously in Islamabad for change on the plea that this is setting a precedent to uproot the governments in the future.

I ask them that if an elected government is acting like a tyrant and failing to deliver good governance, should the citizens suffer?

There is no denying the fact we need a new system in Pakistan as this one has failed us repeatedly. I request all politicians to go into retirement and give the new generation — which is better educated — a chance to serve the people.
