MIANWALI: The Lahore University of Management Sciences (Lums) has provided 200,000 electronic books worth Rs60 million to Danish Schools in Punjab.

This was disclosed by the Lums director during an intra-school quiz competition of Danish School, Hanoli district, Mianwali, 25km from here. He said Lums was utilising all resources for the betterment of education in the country and trying to provide the same technical assistance to these schools that it was providing to its own students.

Dr Ramzan urged the students to make the personalities of Pakistan Movement their ideal who had worked for an independent country. He advised students to work hard to make their country prominent in the world.

DCO Muhammad Khan Ranjha distributed prizes among the students and in his address said students of this under-developed area were lucky to have the best educational facilities.

Earlier, the school principal, Muhammad Tayyab Chaudhry, briefed the guests about the school’s performance. He said this competition was a part of Independence Day celebrations which were underway at the school since Aug 1.

RALLIES: Journalists from the district took out rallies in different parts to show resentment against police action on their fellows in Islamabad.
