KARACHI: Off-spinner Adnan Farooq grabbed a five-wicket haul to help Late Ismail Jaffer CC reach the semi-finals of the of KCCA Zone-VI ‘B’ Division League Cricket Tournament here on Wednesday.
Batting first at Afza Cricket Ground, Sun CC scored 248 all out in 33.1 overs with Ata-ur-Rehman (56) and Subhanullah (50) being the major run-getters.
Adnan was the pick of Metropolitan CC bowlers with figures of five for 48; Usman Shah took 3-41.
Metropolitan CC completed a six-wicket win by totalling 249-4 in 28.1 overs. Hamza Khan struck seven fours and two sixes in his knock of 65, while Arsalan Wasim made 61 and Abdul Rehman 53.
Qasba Sports also moved into the semi-finals with a nine-wicket win over Golden Gymkhana at the Sakhi Hasan Gymkhana Ground. Saeedullah (4-9) and Nabi Zaman (an unbeaten 70 with 12 fours and two sixes) were the star performers for the winning side.
