Waar set for TV premiere on August 14

Pakistani film director, Bilal Lashari’s action thriller Waar is set to make its first world TV premier on Independence Day.

The film will be aired on ARY Digital at 8pm on August 14, as announced on the local television channel’s Facebook page.

Director Lashari said a lot of people missed the theatrical release and have been waiting to watch the action thriller.

"I am glad I can finally show it to people who wanted to watch it," Lashari told Dawn.

Waar, which is Pakistan's highest grossing film, earned a whopping Rs230 million at the local box office.

It was slated to release in 35 countries across the globe. Raking in a business of Rs150 million in the overseas market, Waar has generated a total revenue of around Rs400 million.

With the phenomenal response that Waar received from the audience in Pakistan and abroad, the film will no doubt enthrall the audience when aired on television.
