Muslim countries asked to adopt joint strategy on Gaza

ISLAMABAD: Speakers at an all parties’ ‘Palestine peace conference’ on Tuesday hailed British Minister Baroness Saeeda Warsi’s decision to resign from her ministry in protest against the policies of the British government regarding the Israeli aggression.

The conference demanded the government of Pakistan use its influence and ask the Egyptian government to allow Pakistani humanitarian aid to Gaza.

The conference was held under the aegis of the Pakistan Ulema Council (PUC). Reading out a joint declaration, chairman PUC Hafiz Mohammad Tahir Ashrafi said key Muslim nations, including Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, Turkey and Iran, should come up with a clear strategy regarding the Gaza issue during the Islamic Summit on August 12.

“We strongly condemn the Israeli aggression on Gaza and believe that the issue of Palestine is a humanitarian issue and hence the whole humanity should come forward to resolve it,” he added. The declaration said for a long-term solution to the Palestine issue, the Islamic nations should also seek support from China and Russia and file a case of war crimes against Israel with the UN.

It said attempts should be made for the release of innocent Palestinian prisoners and a fully-fledged role should be played towards declaring Israel a terrorist country.

It was decided that ‘Palestine Peace Day’ would observed throughout the country on August 8.

The conference demanded human rights organisations throughout the world to show solidarity with the oppressed Palestinians against Israeli aggression and play a role in restoring peace in Gaza. The conference was also attended by ambassadors of Palestine, Bosnia.

These spineless leaders will do nothing - they are just busy building the biggest malls, highest buildings and crap like that. Not spending on education, Science, technology BUT spending a ton on implementing their version on Islam on other MUSLIMS - they don't care about Palestine.

It is true that what happen in Gaza is a human tragedy. But I wonder even bigger human tragedies like what is going on in Syria and Iraq where the number of dead (mostly muslim) were much much higher than in Gaza has not been deplored by all Muslim Countries but aided and abetted by Muslim countries. When Jews kill Mulsims, it is bad and when Sunni kill Shia, it is not bad. This kind of attitude by many Muslim nations is quite surprising. Let us condemn, deplore all sorts of inhumanity /Genocide.

As little, as late, as meaningless this conference & its Resolutions might be, I want to thank & show my gratitude that just a few Muslim leaders have at least put some suggestions & vision to ask some Muslim countries to act UNITED in responding & bringing Israeli war crimes to the UN's attention, thank you.

We have not learned from our mistakes of the past. It is important to remember the history, so shall we focus on present and plan for the future. Unfortunately, we stuck in races, color and culture. Muslim countries need to realise that their is no international court for war crimes specaly against Muslims. Muslims also need to realise United Nations will do nothing for justice for Palestine Syria, etc Whats the best option available? We all should know the answer. We need to create a Muslim Union, Similar to Nato to defend any of our countries and all should respond. Think smarter and wiser. Allah (swa) will surely help only if you put some effort! Just like battle of badr, etc.

Out of four countries picked up for strategy for Palestinian cause, three of them are cronies of the western nations except Iran. As for war crimes trials, the OIC has to go to World Court at Hague and not the UN. This shows the understanding of the affairs of the world. A sad reflection on OIC.

This cause is not only about Muslims it concerns humans first, those who are downtrodden, those people who have been in the wrong place at the wrong time, due to no fault of theirs. When the British left the area, after the 2nd W.W. they created a state for the Jews. They were an imperial power then, the Palestinians had no answer to their power, just like the Indians had no answer to British power when they occupied the Sub-continent. This is the cause for this mismatch. Either one keeps up with the rest of the world in science, technology, military strength, or simply faces the consequences. We need to know and recognize the pitfalls of history of the human race. The Arabs are many many years behind, they are quite happy as the way are, no need for them to be woken up, let them sleep and dream.
