DERA ISMAIL KHAN: JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman on Friday said PTI leader Imran Khan neither had political acumen nor had he qualities to resolve the people’s problems.

“Imran Khan has announced the march on Islamabad to achieve personal objectives,” he told party leaders during a meeting here.

Fazl said the federal government should disregard the PTI chief’s announcement of long march.

He said it was ironic that Imran Khan had announced march on Islamabad to press for vote recount in four constituencies.

The JUI-F chief said the PTI leader lacked political acumen and didn’t know what issue was really related to the people’s interests. He alleged the PTI government in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa came into being after rigging in elections.

Fazl said he was surprised to see Imran Khan talk about vote recount in four constituency one year after the elections were over.

He said the matter of rigging in elections should be left to the court of law to decide and that pressuring courts and national institutions was part of the PTI bid to wrap up the entire political system.

The JUI-F leader said the PTI-led provincial government didn’t play due role for the relief of internally displaced persons from North Waziristan Agency and was providing only lip service to the welfare of the people in distress.

He said the federal government was helping out tribesmen in distress and that the Punjab government had also initiated relief activities.

Fazl said his party was in contact with the federal government for the help of IDPs and that the federal and provincial governments should take further steps for the relief of such tribesmen. He said his party had always supported the independence of the election commission.
