RAHIM YAR KHAN: A woman and her daughter were injured in an acid attack on Friday in Sadiqabad tehsil of Rahim Yar Khan.

According to police sources, the two women, Momina and her daughter Amina, were inside their residence in the Satellite Town area of Sadiqabad when five men hurled acid-filled plastic bags into the house. Consequently, the faces and hands of the women were injured and they were shifted to the district headquarter hospital.

Hospital sources said the condition of both victims was out of danger.

Meanwhile, a case has been registered against the five attackers at a police station in Sadiqabad.

The women suspect Amina's ex-husband Ahmed of involvement in the attack.

Ahmed was later arrested, police sources claimed.
