ISLAMABAD: Capital police have arrested two car thieves and recovered a vehicle them, police said on Monday.

According to details, when a police team near toll plaza signalled a car to stop, its driver sped away.

However, the team managed to intercept the car and carried out a search during which it seized jammers, two 30-bore pistols along with ammunition besides fake registration number plates.

They took the two men into custody, who disclosed that they had stolen a car from Karachi Company.

They also confessed to their involvement in several other car thefts.

They said they changed the chassis numbers and documents of the stolen vehicles and took them to other areas of the country.
