Another suspect of PIA plane attack arrested in Peshawar

PESHAWAR: In a major development, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police on Thursday claimed to have arrested a second suspect involved in an attack on a Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) aircraft at Peshawar airport last week.

According to police, security forces and police jointly carried out a raid in Suleman Khel area of Peshawar on intelligence information and arrested Waliullah, a militant commander of Dara Adam Khel and associated with Shahid Group working under the umbrella of Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), in connection with firing on the PIA plane.

Police added that he was also wanted in a number of other cases.

Earlier on Wednesday, police had also arrested a militant commander of Shahid group, Ali Haider for his alleged involvement in the plane attack.

According to police, PK 756 was coming from Riyadh, Saudi Arabia to Peshawar when it was attacked on June 24, while landing at the Bacha Khan International Airport.

At least one female passenger was killed, while four others including two flight stewards were injured in the incident.

Tremendous work by KPK police. People shoot point blank in this country and killers are never caught and here we have KPK police determined to trace shooters who fired at moving airplane in the air from somewhere on the ground. This is a breath of fresh air, awesome job!

PTI influence could be seen as arrest of suspects who involved in attacks is a big success. How about any arrest in Karachi airport attack. just TTP claim the responsibility and Sindh police got no one to arrest. Perhaps the attackers drove all the way from FATA to Karachi Airport.

Now if only our kangaroo courts can start convicting and sentencing these terrorists?

Good Job KP Police. The best deterrence against the crimes is to arrest the criminals before they commit other crimes. If they know they will be arrested, its less likely they will commit the crimes.

Tie these culprits on to the tail of the same plane and takeoff so they can enjoy Open air ride. I am against barbaric laws but I think death penalty must be awarded to terrorists, Murderers and rapists without wasting any delay.
