RAWALPINDI: Information Minister Pervaiz Rashid said the government would take strict measures to tackle individuals like Tahirul Qadri to foil their efforts of spreading anarchy in the country, said a report published on Radio Pakistan.

He was speaking to media representatives outside the District Headquarters Hospital in Rawalpindi while visiting policemen who had been injured at the hands of Pakistan Awaami Tehreek (PAT) workers.

He said the world had seen how stick-wielding PAT workers had resorted to violence against police personnel on the directives of PAT chief Qadri, which was highly regrettable and condemnable.

Rashid said the government had not created any hurdles over Qadri's return to Pakistan, but added that the law would take its course in the violent incidents that left over one hundred personnel of Islamabad and Punjab police injured.

The information minister said Tahirul Qadri had arrived in Pakistan on his own will but would leave the country when he was allowed by the law.
