Deported, but why. Incomplete information given away leaves doubt about the efficiency and competence of Pakistani governing elite. These are not their qualities anyway but certainly they are very very corrupt all around. Recent Pakistani Presidents and Prime Ministers have been widely believed to be thugs and thieves. Now their next generation is enjoying that massive loot. Example , Geelani boys, Bilawal Bhutto, Hussain and Hamza Nawaz, are the future leaders of Pakistan.

Couldn't the lady have been 'blacklisted' simply because she was an American? Just look at some of those comments below and multiply them by similar thoughts of thousands of Pakistanis. We Americans are hated over there. Unfortunately by many who don't seem to know what they are talking about. Unless I'm walking around in a fog, what I see in in the U.S. is one of the most tolerant countries in the world. But it really doesn't matter. If someone dislikes us, what possible harm could there be? If the dislike erupts into violence, there is the harm of course. But America is a nation of laws. If a woman gets shot in the leg and then stoned to death, she will at least get justice. Her murderers would be in jail for life - no parole. In some states there might be the death penalty. Some on you wrote in the comments below that the culprits might not be held accountable for their actions and that was disturbing to read. There must be justice for this lady. Otherwise what was her life about?

Unless the laws have changed visas must be obtained in advance for US Citizens wishing to enter Pakistan. She probably had a valid visa as they are checked by officials prior to boarding your flight to your destination. But I am glad this vague story made it to the front page of the Dawn website when there are people dying left and right in a country with a failed government and draconian laws that limit freedom of thought.
