BEIJING: Chief of the Army Staff General Raheel Sharif who is on an official visit to China met here on Thursday with Mr Zhang Dejiang, Chairman National People’s Congress who is also Vice Chairman of National Security Commission (NSC) and Defence Minister General Chang Wanquan.

According to an ISPR press release matters of mutual interest were discussed at the meeting. Measures for increased cooperation at different levels in the spheres of defence and security were also deliberated upon.

General Sharif also met Minister for Public Security Guo Shengkun.

In the evening, the Defence Minister of China hosted a banquet in honour of the COAS.
