ISLAMABAD: Chief Justice of the Supreme Court Tassaduq Hussain Jillani on Saturday constituted a three-member bench to hear the matter of an allegedly contemptuous programme aired by ARY News.

The bench, consisting of Justice Ejaz Afzal, Justice Ejaz Ahmed Chaudhry and Justice Musheer Alam, is expected to take up the matter on Monday.

Justice Jawwad S. Khawaja originally took notice of the show hosted by ARY anchor Mubasher Lucman, where derogatory remarks were passed against the honourable judge by the host and the show’s participants.

Justice Khawaja referred the matter to the chief justice and the case was converted into a miscellaneous application.

The Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority has already issued notices to ARY News for broadcasting the show.
