KARACHI: An estate agent was shot dead in Federal B Area, Block-16, on Tuesday evening, police said.

Aun Mohammed Naqvi, 35, was sitting at the estate agency near his home in Abdullah Square when gunmen riding a motorcycle opened fired on him and sped away, said an official at the Yusuf Plaza police station. He added that the victim sustained bullet wounds and was rushed to hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

Azizabad DSP Saleem Akhter Siddiqi said the murder might be related to estate-related activities.

However, a spokesperson for the Majlis-i-Wahdat-i-Muslimeen said the victim was Shia and it was a targeted attack on sectarian grounds.
