KARACHI: The inspector general of Sindh police on Sunday said that the reserved platoons should be kept alert at the police headquarters for providing back-up to police stations during the ongoing targeted action against criminals in Karachi.

The IG of Sindh police, Iqbal Mehmood, said this while presiding over a meeting on law and order here.He said measures should be taken for ensuring shooting practice from DIGs to constable level and for this purpose zonal DIGs should ensure shooting practice by two police officers and two policemen at the police firing range on a daily-basis.

About killings in the city, he said a strategy had been devised for scrutinising the performance of every policeman. —APP
