The Indus Valley School of Art and Architecture had the opening of it's Sixth Alumni Show on Thursday, March 13, 2014.

The theme this year was 'Play' and the participants had to represent the word in their own way. Interestingly, all participants had a broad perspective and it was quite amusing to see the results that came out of this one word.

A few that seem to have caught the visitors' attention were Samya Arif's 'Split Your Infinities', where you had to stick illustrated stickers on the three digital prints made by the artist and Nagin Ansari's 'Karachi Crosswords', where you had to highlight positive words about Karachi.

'Selfie Stop' by Humayun Memon was another interesting installation. A collage on mirror, the installation invited viewers to take their 'selfies'. The artist is interested to see how different people take photos of themselves in the same area – from the angle they choose to shoot from, to the filter they put when sharing their photos online on instagram.

'Performance act of Conversations' by Sophia Qureshi and Manizhe Ali caught the most attention on the opening night. Played out at the opening, the visitors were invited to sit and become part of the live interactive performance.

The show will continue until March 30, 2014.
