GUJRANWALA, Dec 7: The sessions court on Saturday took notice of torture of a minor maid by her employers in Garjakh locality and issued orders for registration of a case against them and arrest of the victim’s parents.

Reports said Muafia, 7, was serving as a maid in the house of Sheikh Saleem where his wife, Ayesha, allegedly tortured her and injured her over a minor issue.

The Child Protection Bureau rescued Muafia and produced her before the sessions court where her parents were also present who prayed to the court to hand them over their daughter.

However, Additional Sessions Judge Rao Abdul Jabbar rejected their plea and got them arrested for handing over their daughter for work in a house as maid for a few hundreds rupees.

The court handed over the minor maid to the Child Protection Bureau and issued orders for her treatment from DHQ Hospital.

Garjakh police registered a case against Muafia’s employers, Sheikh Saleem and Ayesha, under various offences.

45 BOOKED: The Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) ordered registration of corruption cases against more than 45 teachers besides an assistant education officer.

Reports said ACE Regional Director Muzaffar Khan Sayal received a complaint that 45 teachers, who had fake degrees, were recruited by the education department. They bribed the authorities while Sialkot Assistant Education Officer Zaibu Nisa was also involved in it.

Meanwhile, three sub-inspectors of police were also booked on corruption charges after they were found guilty in an inquiry.

Sub-Inspector Rana Tehsin allegedly extorted Rs1.1 million in three cases from the accused while Sub-Inspector Abdul Rashid got Rs50,000 and Sub-Inspector Nawaz Tawana Rs25,000 in separate cases.
