KARACHI: The International Cricket Council (ICC) issued its new rankings on Sunday, establishing Pakistan’s spin-maestro Saeed Ajmal as the top bowler in One day International (ODI) rankings, DawnNews reported.

ICC issued its ODI rankings in which Ajmal, who was recently named man of the series in South Africa, remained number one bowler by 763 points.

In the ICC player rankings for batsmen, Pakistani captain Misbah-ul-Haq ranked No. 10 with 722 points.

In the allrounder category, Muhammad Hafeez lost ground from his previous No. 1 spot to the second place, while Shahid Afridi after his dismal batting performance dropped to the seventh spot in the rankings.

This month Pakistan will be playing Sri Lanka in a series of five matches in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), which could provide the Pakistani side a chance to improve their rankings.
