LAHORE, Nov 18: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) announced on Monday two separate under-19 squads for the Asia Cup and a tri-nation limited-overs tournament, both to be held in the UAE from Dec 1 to Jan 4.

Sami Aslam, however, has been retained captain of both the squads.

The national selection committee selected the squads on the basis of the players’ performance on Pakistan U-19 team’s last tour to England where under Sami Pakistan displayed a magnificent performance to win a tri-nation one-day series also involving Bangladesh.

The UAE tri-series besides Pakistan will feature England and the UAE from Dec 1 to Dec 24.The Asia Cup will be staged in the desert emirate from Dec 26 to Jan 4.

It is pertinent to mention here that the Under-19 World Cup is also being held in the UAE in February 2014 for which Pakistan players’ performance in these two assignments and also given in the ongoing national inter-region U-19 event will be considered.

Ali Zia and Azam Khan have also been retained as manager and coach.

For Asia Cup:

Sami Aslam (captain), Nisar Afridi, Hussain Talat, Imam-ul-Haq, Hasan Raza, Mohammad Umair, Saud Shakeel, Shayan Jahangir, Kamran Ghulam, Saifullah Khan (wicket-keeper), Zafar Gohar, Karamat Ali, Mohammad Aftab, Zia-ul-Haq, Salman Saeed.
