KARACHI, Oct 29: Police on Tuesday submitted an interim charge-sheet in a case pertaining to the kidnapping, rape and murder of a 13-year-old schoolgirl.

The student of class-IV was taken away from her school in Federal B. Area on Sept 24 and she was found murdered on the Seaview beach on Sept 26.

A female cousin of the victim, her husband and their two male accomplices have been arrested for allegedly abducting, sexually assaulting and killing the schoolgirl.

The investigation officer of the case submitted the interim report in court in which he charge-sheeted all the held suspects.

However, as per the interim charge-sheet, the police had so far failed to collect any incriminating evidence against a Quetta-based suspect, who was initially believed to be the main suspect since the police claimed that he was in love with the victim girl.

The IO sought time for submission of a final charge-sheet on the ground that samples of male suspects were collected and sent to Islamabad for a DNA test in order to ascertain the alleged rapists, but the report was still awaited.

The suspects were booked under Sections 365-A (kidnapping for ransom), 302 (premeditated murder), 376 (punishment for rape) and 34 (common intention) of the Pakistan Penal Code read with Section 7 of the Anti-Terrorism Act, 1997 at the Azizabad police station on a complaint of the deceased’s father.
