LAHORE, Oct 19: Six-goal Ali Tiwana guided Master Paints to qualify for the final of the NewAge Polo Cup, defeating Munir Motors 7-5½ here on Saturday.

Master Paints will play the final against JPL.

Nawaz Tiwana scored all the three goals as the losing side led the first chukker 3½-1. Half goal was their handicap.

Ali, who hit his first goal in the opening chukker, fired two more in the second and his team-mate Sufi Muhammad Haris also banged home to seize the 4-3½ lead.

In the third chukker, Ali added two more while Nawaz pumped in one as the score was 6-4½.

In the final chukker, Ali scored his last goal while Irfan Sheikh hit a goal for the losing side, thus completing the final score of 7-5½.

Earlier, after a gruelling fight, Lotto Carpet defeated Guard Group 8-7.

For the winners, Omar Asjad Malhi scored three, including the decisive one in the final chukker. Kamran Zaidi also scored three and Imran Abid added two.

For the losing side, Taimur Ali Malik (6) and Samir Malik (1) were the scorers. —Sports Reporter
