FAISALABAD, Sept 3: The Civil Lines police recovered on Tuesday an infant kidnapped from District Headquarters Hospital some three months ago and arrested a woman.

Khalida Bibi of Noorpur submitted an application to City Police Officer Abdul Razzaq Cheema, accusing Tasneem of Railway Colony of kidnapping her son about three months ago. She said the accused had got her shifted from DHQ Hospital to the house of her sister in Railway Colony for delivery.

After delivery, she said Tasneem told her that she had shifted the new-born ‘girl’ to the hospital because of some respiratory problem. However, Khalida said she had refused to accept her version and insisted on the possession of her baby.

The next day, Tasneem told her that the baby girl had passed away and buried subsequently. On CPO’s order, a police team recovered the boy and arrest the accused.
