QUETTA: At least 10 people were killed and many others injured on Friday in an attack that targetted a mosque the Eidul Fitr prayers near Quetta’s eastern bypass, DawnNews reported.

The shooting came a day after a suicide bomber targeted a police funeral and killed 38 people, mostly police officers, in the same city.

“Four gunmen opened fire when people were coming out of the mosque after saying Eid prayers,” senior local police official Bashir Ahmad Brohi told AFP.

Brohi said a former Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) provincial minister, Ali Madad Jattak, was also in the mosque and could have been the target.

“But we are not sure at the moment and are investigating, “he said, adding that Jattak escaped unhurt although bullets hit his car.

Another local police official, Sultan Ahmad, confirmed the incident and casualties outside the mosque, which is also a preaching and research centre.

Nobody has so far claimed responsibility for the shooting. Most recent attacks in Quetta, the capital of oil- and gas-rich Balochistan province bordering Afghanistan and Iran, have been linked to a Baloch separatist insurgency or sectarian violence.

On Tuesday Baloch separatists shot dead 14 people including three security officials, 70 kilometres southeast of Quetta.

Nothing seems to be sacred, even Eid Ul Fitr prayers, for the Pakistani terrorists! After these terrorists who have one-(unknown)-track mind finish Pakistan, India would be probably their next target! So we would prefer if this 'tehrik' is crushed in Pakistan itself!

Very sad news indeed. A muslim cannot be behind this. Our intelligences services needs to increase their strength and operational capabilities to deal with terrorists.

One would think on a serene day like Eid murderers would take a break. But these are sick beasts with no respect for a holy day or for human lives.

How can a Muslim kill another Muslim when he is coming out of Masjid after attending Namaz? Do these people have remote touch of mercy for their fellow Muslims? Is one of the fundamental responsibilities of the government is to protect the lives of their citizens? Federal government hardly comments on what happens in provinces.

What crime can you not cover up in Pakistan as long as you say you are doing it in the name of Islam?

Who are these beasts in Baluchistan and under whose patronage with all arms, ammunition, logistics they are operating and causing carnage with no regard of even muslim's holliest month of Ramadhan and festive occasion of Eidul Fitr attacking and massacring even unarmed muslim worshippers! They made it an easy killing field. All have to be exposed and they need to be taken sternly with all seriousness and deserve no sympathy!

Shabash Muslamano tum nay aaj tumharay mazhab aur Rasool ka naam roshan kar diye. Is this what really Islam is about? Killing human beings on the day when they are there to thank their God for the blessings?

So why our religious leaders are not calling this act, "Blasphemy"? Why the entire nation is quiet? Why do we call these terrorists Muslims? Why do we even call them humans? They are animals.

Till when?

When will this stop? How many more lives?

What about our leaders sitting comfortably in their cocoons?

None of their relatives or children are dying?

We proudly announce that the nation is united to celebrate Eid on same day! But what about the dead, their relatives, their children or parents!!! Who is accountable for their loss?

Government or the army should at least tell us why are they not taking any action. It is ridiculous to keep quiet when we need to know so disparately.

Democracy is the best way to stabilize! If you do not like the Govt run election, win and change things! Work creates wealth, that creates more employment. Less imports. Good India-Pakistan war did not happen! Trade, with possibility of retaliation at various levels, ensures peace.
