LAHORE, Aug 8: A selfless fighter for the rights of his community and veteran journalist, I.H. Raashed, died of heart failure on Thursday. He was 82.

A trade unionist to the core and a fatherly figure for the journalist community, Mr Raashed suffered a heart attack after Fajr prayers and died soon afterwards at his residence in Allama Iqbal Town, Jehanzeb Block.

Funeral prayers were attended by a large number of journalists, friends and relatives. He was laid to rest at the Miani Saheb graveyard.

Mr Raashed leaves behind his wife, a son and three daughters.
