LAHORE, June 7: Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has expressed his displeasure over showering of rose petals by a private plane on the occasion of oath-taking ceremony at Governor’s House on Thursday.

“It’s time to work and a poor nation cannot afford such extravagance,” he said.

Issuing instructions to his staff to convey his displeasure to those concerned, the chief minister said he did not agree to the argument that the provincial authorities were not involved in this act.

He said although some people arranged this show at the individual level to celebrate oath-taking of the chief minister, the PML-N expected of its supporters to follow its policy of austerity and simplicity.
