Charsadda is home to Gandahara civilisation and a treasure of rich archeological sites. But unfortunately some unscrupulous elements are involved in illegal excavation of these sites to loot precious artifacts and relics.
The people of the area have expressed deep concern over the illegal business and demanded protection of the sites which is a national asset.
POLIO:
District amir of JUI-F Maulana Gohar Shah, ex-MNA Maulana Ghulam Mohammad Sadiq and the National Research and Developmental Foundation (NRDF) coordinator Arbab Bilal have said that there is no harm in vaccination and urged people to administer anti-polio drops to their children and save them from the crippling disease.
Addressing a press conference in Darul Uloom Charsadda on Friday they urged the people to extend full cooperation to the anti-polio vaccination teams and social warders in making the ongoing drive successful. The NRDF arranged the press conference.
Referring to the teachings of Islam, they said Islam always stressed on maintenance of good health and there was no restriction on getting treatment even from a non-Muslim doctor.
They regretted that due to lack of awareness some parents and clerics opposed the polio vaccination to children, which was affecting their health.
The speakers said they would provide full support to the polio immunisation campaign by creating awareness of benefits of polio vaccine among the parents during the Friday sermons.
