KARACHI, May 2: Dawn sports reporter Shazia Hasan's home was burgled on Monday morning, police said.

They said an unknown number of thieves climbed over the walls of the home on 7th Street of Phase I in the Defence Housing Authority in the small hours of the day and took away cash, jewellery and valuable equipment.

“Apart from the cash and jewellery, the thieves took away a Hitachi VTP 13-A Impact Drill, a set of cobalt alloy drill bits and a heavy-duty steel bolt cutter. Prize bonds worth Rs122,500 were also taken away in the process,” said an official at the Defence police station.

He confirmed that the case was reported at the police station but did not explain the non-registration of an FIR despite a written request by the complainant.
