LAHORE, March 31: A petition has been filed in the Lahore High Court against government functionaries and Pakistani cricketers, accusing them of fixing the semi-final with India. The petition seeks a probe into the defeat and wants the Federal Investigation Agency, National Accountability Bureau, Federal Board of Revenue and the State Bank of Pakistan to seize telephone and accounts record of the players and government functionaries who remained in contact with the former.

Interior and information ministers, Pakistan Cricket Board chairman, cricket team captain, players Misbah-ul-Haq, Umar Akmal, Kamran Akmal and Pakistani ambassadors to the UK, India and the UAE have been made party in the petition.

Separately, the Lahore High Court issued notices to federal and provincial governments on an application, which asked the court to make them party in the case and seek explanation from them about the release of CIA operative Raymond Davis despite his name being on the Exit Control List. — Staff Reporter
