Suspect shot dead

PESHAWAR, Feb 22: Police claimed on Tuesday to have gunned down a suspect involved in a bomb blast targeting a school van on Pejagi Road a few months ago.

A police spokesman said the accused Qari Haq Nawaz was killed in an encounter near Khushaal Bagh Palosai where the police had tried to arrest him but he opened fire on the police party and in retaliation came under fire.

The accused was also wanted in kidnapping for ransom and other cases.
