An exhibition displayed at the Mohatta Palace Museum in Karachi titled, ‘The Rising Tide,’ is a show with much to offer. Covering the ground floor of the Museum is the work of 42 artists divided into six categories: Cartographies of Intimacy; The Urban Transition; Languages of Belonging; Between the Real and the Fabricated; Imagined Worlds Envisioning Spaces and Ghosts in the Turret Room. The display described as: `New Directions in Art from Pakistan 1990’ and curated by Naiza Khan, will be running for three months. Wow! The ideas projected are so diverse yet poignant. I wish I was in Pakistan to come view the exhibition but good job Dawn in bringing art & culture to the forefront...beats just hearing about tainted politics as usual!

a beautifully organised exhibition, i think a treat for cultural starved people of Karachi. such exhibitions should be advertised more by the media ,we know Karachi has talent and loves arts .

Quite Crafty! Its too royal for a layman like me. I must say that I can do similar work particularly the one like "Quilt and Painting". The one I could understand was "Find the real Jinnah" and the one about Rug of Drones (something like this). The rest were simply pictures with colours. But seriously it is mcuh too abstract/absurd for a person not much into arts. It can be understood and appreciated by the devout art lovers. Had I been in Karachi I would have definitely paid a visit to see not only the paintings but also the Palace.

Excellent for Dawn to publish "a digital tour" of this art exbition. It allows also us - the readers in far-away countries, who follow the politics and other developments in Pakistan - to see the other side of Pakistan, not only the political problems. I also would like to know what happened to the rich archeological treasures, excavated sites in Mohendjaro, and others, when the floods covered so much of the country. Is there any coverage on Dawn on that?
