SCARBOROUGH, Aug 9: England juniors are likely to name an unchanged squad for the second Pakistan Test after the home side won the first first U-19 Test by an innings and 58 runs on Tuesday. The second Test will be played from August 10-13 at Derby.
England U-19 coach Andy Pick told newsmen on Thursday that there would no change in the 12 members squad that played the first Test. However, when asked to comment about the fate of James Hamilton-Brown who was ousted from captaincy a day before the first Test, he said: “The captain is now Ben Wright but James is part of the 12-member team and that is enough.”
The U-19 series will help both Pakistan and England to prepare for the forthcoming Junior World Cup to be played in February-March 2008 in Malaysia.
“England U-19 is facing some good opposition from their counterparts from Pakistan and we are very happy that they are here,” said Pick.—APP
