Chinese military team arrives

RAWALPINDI, Dec 16: A Chinese military delegation led by Lt-Gen Lu Dengming, chief of staff of the Chengdu Military Command, arrived here on Saturday to observe the ongoing Pak-China Friendship exercises 2006.

The 24-member delegation included senior military commanders and a group of journalists for media coverage of the second joint exercises between the armies of the two countries.

The exercises are aimed at honing skills for anti-terrorism measures. Commencing on Dec 10, the exercises are now near completion.

Earlier, on arrival at the PAF Base Chaklala, the Chinese military delegation was received by Maj-Gen Sardar Mahmood Ali, the director-general of military training in the Pakistan Army, besides other senior military officials.
