British boxer visits AJK

By Our Staff Correspondent

MUZAFFARABAD, Dec 17: Olympic silver medallist Amir Khan, a British boxer of Pakistani origin, on Saturday visited the earthquake-stricken areas of Azad Jammu and Kashmir and called upon the international community to help rebuild the devastated area at the earliest.

Mr Khan has been invited by aid agency Oxfam to visit its earthquake response programme in Muzaffarabad.

“It’s really very upsetting to see the plight of the earthquake survivors. Kids have no food, no home and so many of them have lost their parents,” he told reporters outside a makeshift school in Chattar Klass camp, 20 kilometres south of here.
