KARACHI: Effective steps to curb violence urged

KARACHI, Aug 18: Sindh Democratic Alliance (SDA), expressing concern over deteriorating law and order in the province, has urged the Sindh chief minister to take steps for evolving an integrated strategy for security of the citizens.

At a meeting of the party, attended by office-bearers and senior workers, with SDA president Imtiaz Ahmad sheikh in the chair on Monday, expressed its deep anguish and sorrow over killing of five brothers in Hussainabad area and murders of Muttahida Qaumi Movement leader and Dr Ibne Hasan in Malir area.

Similarly, bomb explosions at railway tracks near Nawabshah and Hyderabad, besides rising incidents of dacoities and car lifting in the city, were also condemned by the SDA.

Mr Sheikh termed recent wave of terrorism in Sindh as well-hatched conspiracy against democracy, and urged the government to take effective measures.

He called upon the people to forge unity in their ranks and maintain sectarian harmony, which, he said, would help foil evil designs of forces inimical to the integrity of the country.—PPI
